Religion is back on Sunday

March 11, 2008

Australian sports fans will rejoice when Wide World of Sports returns after a nine year absence. Tune in Sunday morning from 9.30am for a ninety-minute nostalgic experience. Ken Sutcliffe is hosting and will share the desk with a team of revolving regulars including Adam Gilchrist, James Brayshaw, Nicole Livingstone, Giaan Rooney and Michael Slater.

To get you warmed up, here’s a firm favourite of the original WWoS intro, an extended clip of Brian Meeker or ‘The Vault Man’.

The problem with re-hashing things you used to do, is that everyone pretty much expects the same things, and really only remembers it at its height – which the new version will never reach – and at its lowest – which is the benchmark all will compare this to, and it’ll be starting BELOW this benchmark to start with.

I just read on news.com.au that Nine have brought Tim Campbell into their “Stable of Stars” to host a re-vamped Wheel of Fortune to lead into the news.

    Oh. My. God.
